Trimex as Technical Director of the 2024 European Election Night
For the third time running, Trimex proudly took on the role
of Technical Director for the European Election Night event, held at the
European Parliament’s Hemicycle. Partnering with DB Video and Nimbler, we
collaborated with DG-Comm to transform this iconic venue into an exceptional
media space designed for a memorable election night.
The Hemicycle was reimagined to accommodate both public and
private broadcasters. We built 60 standup positions on three levels of
Layher floors, creating a powerful setup where each position conveyed the
energy of being live from the European Parliament. To enhance the experience,
we installed an expansive, high-resolution LED videowall at the front of the
Hemicycle, offering an immersive and dynamic backdrop displaying real-time
data, EU-focused clips, and more.
One of the biggest challenges we faced was turning the
creative designs of Xavier Nijssen and Dimitri Beyaert into a feasible and
secure setup within the Hemicycle’s structural limits. With precision work
alongside Stageco Belgium, we crafted millimeter-accurate structures to
perfectly fit the space while adhering to the strict load requirements.
Our reliable power plant, built in collaboration with The
Powershop, provided over 4000kVA of backup-powered electricity for all
technology inside and outside the Parliament. The event’s technical success was
